We are a small farm located in Pend Orielle County, WA, about an hour north of both Spokane, WA and Coeur d’Alene ID.
We raise MDGA registered Mini-Nubian dairy goats and pedigreed Rex rabbits. In 2022 we added dairy cows to the farm. In 2023, we are pursuing our raw dairy certification, and are working towards greater sustainability on the farm.
We were blessed to be able to buy our first goats from a breeder who focused on a grass fed, dam-raised, herbal approach, and that is the direction we’ve chosen to continue in our herd.
We grow most of our own hay, an unsprayed non-endophyte fescue blend. For the hay we supplement, we buy the best we can find, preferably no or low spray. Next year, we anticipate being able to supply all of our own un-sprayed hay. Our goats also have access to some forage/browse. Our milking does are fed Non-GMO alfalfa pellets. Free choice minerals are provided. We disbud our goats, but are happy to have added some polled genetics to our herd recently. We do not vaccinate.
Our rabbits have been primarily fed store bought pellets. We are looking forward to implementing a more sustainable feeding system in 2023.
