At Fill the Earth Farmstead, we believe that everything was designed with a purpose and that we can utilize many things in a natural way to best raise our animals and family. We appreciate innate hardiness and use this trait as one of the large selectors for the stock we breed. Our lambs are not vaccinated, and our adults have not had any since 2021 before we purchased them.
Our ducks and chickens are also unvaccinated, and many have been hatched right here on our farm from the largest and strongest of our birds.
On our property, we do not use any chemical sprays anywhere. The closest thing you will see us use is dolomite to help push back the tick population, and occasionally a vinegar foliar spray on particularly unwanted flora, such as crabgrass in the driveway gravel. We use compost, worm castings, and manure for fertilization with the occasional addition of organic plant food specific to the plant and located directly around it (think organic tomato food in the garden - animals have no access anyway).
The only "medications" we use include B-Complex and Vitamin C. We may also give something like blackstrap molasses, or apple cider vinegar as well.

Parasite Protocol: For parasites, we use a half dose of copper wire particles once per year. (This is a short-tailed Northern European breed, they need some copper, and these are only about 15% bioavailable.) We then also use a product called Garlic Barrier a few times a year around times of increased risk and higher stress. We have used herbal wormers in the past as well, but have found we do not need them with these available and their mineral options.
We try to rotate grazing as best as we can, but this is slow at this time as we are still clearing pasture for them.
