We are a Sesquicentennial family farm raising registered Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats naturally. While we primarily raise our goats for milk, their lineage includes successful show animals. We are currently not on milk test, but were for several years with most of the goats earning their stars, many of them multigenerational. We are passionate about our herd and milking and love to share that passion with others. People who purchase our goats continue to get support long after the animals leave our farm.
We believe in the importance of familial relationships among our goats, which is why we allow dams to raise their kids. At two to four weeks old, kids are separated from their dams overnight so dams can be milked in the morning. We interact with kids daily, striving for a balance of friendly kids who are still very much a part of the herd, learning how to goat. We castrate bucklings by banding when the time is right for the individual, not based on any prescribed schedule. Kids typically stay on the farm until they are 12 weeks old.
